Gain real world experience

Our partnerships with over 400 placement schools in urban and rural settings, means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see what suits you best. We also have excellent links with children’s centres, nurseries, schools, refuge centres, forest schools, art gallery education teams and museum education outreach.

Off-site learning

Alongside work placements and lectures, you’ll develop skills through off-campus activities, exploring creative lesson planning and opportunities to volunteer at Cheltenham Literature Festival, providing story time sessions for children.

Hardwick is a 3 minute walk from Francis Close Hall campus and has 123 bedrooms, while Pittville Student Village has nearly 800 bedrooms and is just a 20 minute walk from campus.

Over 80 sports clubs and societies

From Tae Kwon-do and Drama to DJ’ing, film-making and yoga – there are loads of societies to keep you busy alongside your studies. Improve your cooking skills by joining the Culinary society, or hang out with fellow Harry Potter fans in Dumbledore’s Army. You can even start a new society.

There are plenty of sports clubs to join too including hockey, badminton, football, rugby, netball, rowing, cheerleading, rock climbing and trampolining.

Whether you have a placement as part of your course, want to get involved with your community or simply want to get experience and make a bit of money, you’ll have access to hundreds of work experience opportunities.

Our work placement coordinators are available to help on every campus.

We understand that having the confidence to go for your goals isn’t always easy. But with our programme of empowering events, inspiring guest speakers and workshops designed to improve your mindset, you’ll feel ready for anything.

Through Your Future Plan’s Employability Award scheme, workshops and mentoring programmes, you’ll develop the skill​s essential to life after graduation – whatever that might look like for you.​

Money advice

The money advice team offer confidential advice and information on how to find work to support yourself and how to organise your budget.

We can also provide you with information regarding bursaries, loans and grants and explore what you’re entitled to.

Loans

As well as a tuition fee loan, if you’re a UK/EU student and have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to study, you can apply for a student maintenance loan to help with your living costs.

Bursaries

There are a number of bursaries available in 2020/2021 to all students including a range of automatic bursaries providing a grant during the first year of study for eligible international students.

Scholarships

We’re offering a number of scholarships in 2020/2021 including the Academic Merit Scholarship which rewards academic merit for students who achieve a certain standard in their level 3 results.
